Chi Mei Lighting Technology Corp (CMLT) located in the Tree Valley Park (TV Park) which is beside the Southern Taiwan Science Park (STSP).  CMLT, with initiate capital of NTD 250 million, was founded in September, 2006 and owned by the world's leading TFT-LCD company - CHIMEI Optoelectronics, belonging to CHIMEI Group.

CHIMEI Group devotes to push ahead with other satellite parts to create Optoelectronics village in TV Park, which includes LED、Glass、Back lighting、CCFL、Driver IC、and other upstream suppliers for cluster effect, and this strong alliance creates a viable supply chain that gives a competitive advantage.

CMLT aims to professedly manufacturing and marketing super high brightness Light Emitting Diode (LED) products. As the advantage of high brightness LED with the characteristics of more compact size, lower power consumption and longer operation life, they are widely used in areas such as automotive interior and exterior lighting, LCD back lighting, outdoor/indoor displays, traffic signals, indicators for various consumer electronic equipments and light sources for general illumination.  Our specialized field is from upstream to downstream, including epitaxy、chip、package and applications.

Mr. Ching-Siang Liao is the chairman of Chi Mei Optoelectronics, Chi Mei Corporation, Chi Lin Technology, Linklinear Development, Zhenjiang Chimei Chemical, and Poly Chemical Engineering.  He is also a director at affiliates Nexgen Mediatech, Tai-Chi Investment, Chi Mei Materials and Chi Mei Storage.

  
 
  Simon Chen, President    
     
 

Dr. Simon Chen was named President and Chief Executive Officer in August 2008. Prior to his current position, Dr. Chen served as the company's consultant. He is responsible for directing CMLT's business and R&D strategies for growth.

Prior to joining CMLT, Dr. Chen held a position as assistant professor in Far East University in Tainan, Taiwan. In 2000, he founded Epitech whose business is to design and manufacture LED products. Through his superior management, Epitech was listed on “Deloitte-TECH Fast 50 Taiwan 2005”. Later the company was merged by South Epitaxy. He was invited to join the new team and appointed President and CEO from 2005 until 2006.

Dr. Chen earned his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from National Cheng Kung University in Tainan, Taiwan. He also possesses at least 10 LED technical patents.
